The Outlined Agenda of Global Learning Day Participants
What are the essential tenets of an educational and political reform agenda that participants in Global Learning Day agree on?
1. Extending the Conversation
We need to engage more people in these discussions, in all walks of life in all nations of the globe.
2. Extending Connectivity Access
We need to promote greater access (connectivity) to telecommunications resources for people around the planet. Specifically broader and more affordable access to the Internet needs to be available.
3. Extending Hardware Access
We need to promote the availability of computer hardware for more people in more places. These can be new and less expensive computer systems, large-scale projects like the OLPC project, and initiatives to distribute reusable computer hardware for others.
4. Promoting Financial Support for Education
We need to promote greater financial commitments by governmental , business, and non-governmental organizations to support this educational reform agenda.
5. Helping Teachers
We need to help teachers learn new ways to engage learners and leverage the power of digitally empowered collaborations to promote authentic opportunities for teaching and learning.
